2005 UKBC, London, UK
The first official UK Beatbox Championships took place at Cargo in London on 24th July 2005. It was one of the earliest national beatbox championships to be held anywhere in the world and marked a significant moment in the growth of the UK beatbox scene.
The event was preceded by four qualifying heats held across the UK in Leeds, Newcastle, Manchester and London. The winner and runner-up from each heat earned their place in the Grand Final in London.
The inaugural championship culminated in a memorable final between two beatboxers with very different styles: Faith SFX and Beardyman. Following a closely contested battle, Faith SFX was crowned the first Official UK Beatbox Champion and went on to represent the United Kingdom at the first official Beatbox World Championship later that year.
