Dr Yasin El Ashrafi BEM is a multi-award-winning music executive, entrepreneur and mentor based in Leicester. He is the Founder of HQ Recording Studio, HQ Familia record label and HQ CAN CIC, as well as the driving force behind the Leicester Music Conference and a founding member of the Leicester Music Board. As an ex-Hip Hop DJ and former record shop owner, I’m the founder of Big Hug Music Group — a company built on the mantra of nurturing talent and amplifying other people’s art. Over time, Big Hug has grown into a multifaceted home for artists, spanning management, national radio plugging, sync for games, adverts, TV, and film, and most recently, Forbidden Hug, a TikTok Live agency dedicated to helping artists monetise their music and grow their brand by going live.
