2013 UKBC, London, UK
The 2013 UK Beatbox Championships took place at a new venue, Brixton Jamm in London, on 22nd June 2013. The event marked another important chapter in UKBC history with the introduction of the Loopstation category, further expanding the championships and showcasing the growing diversity of beatbox performance.
The elimination format introduced the previous year remained in place, with successful competitors performing a 1 minute 30 second elimination routine before the judges selected a Top 8 to progress to the battle rounds.
Defending champion Ball-Zee returned once again in pursuit of a record-breaking third title. Following another day of exceptional competition, Ball-Zee faced Hobbit in a closely contested final that required an extra round to determine the winner. Ball-Zee emerged victorious to become the 2013 UK Beatbox Champion and remains the first and only competitor in UKBC history to win three Solo Championship titles.
Elsewhere, Grace Savage successfully defended her title against Dana McKeon to become the first two-time UK Women’s Beatbox Champion, while Ill-Bits retained their crown to become the first two-time UK Team Champions. In the newly introduced Loopstation category, Hobbit was crowned the inaugural UK Loopstation Champion.
